MINOR IMPROVEMENT SCHEME. amended 23/06/07

Below is a list of items that have already been requested, over the years. As it said in FOCUS 191, there is £8,900 for us to spend this year, and then £13,900 for 3 years after that, so the list will need a lot of prioritising!

Please let us have your views as soon as possible on priority that should be given to these schemes, and any others that you want to be considered.

BISHOPSGARTH AND ELM TREE

Minor Improvement Schemes already asked for.

Footpath past rear of Whitehouse Farm School, from Newstead Avenue to the junction of the path over the bridge from Piercebridge Close, 260 metres.For the existing path to be properly surfaced, and lighting added.

Was £24,000, now £40,300 with lighting, £26,000 without lighting.

Verge treatment at 46 to 76 Bishopton Road West £9,800

Verge treatment on verge between Marwood Square and Meldrum Square £1,800

Light outside 10 Lauder Close.£1,000

Cost for scheme for 9 additional columns in Lauder Close £8,500

Parking bays behind Midfield View £50,000

6 parking bays on Melksham Square £8,500

5 and 6 bays on Melksham Square £15,950

10 parking bays on Marwood Square £15,700

3 parking bays rear 33/34 Lowick Close £8,150

1 parking bay rear 14/16 Lowick Close £3,100

Request from unknown member of public to Council for more lighting along The Vale £29,500

Numerous dropped kerbs, including Benwell Close/Barrington Avenue; Norwich Avenue, Lauder House. Cost for 1 dropped kerb, only, twice as much for each side of a junction. £500

Dog bins, cost for each one £4-500

Litter bins, lamppost mounted £100 - £120

Floor standing £400 - £450

Floral displays, various costs, but Half oak barrels £75 each plus £112 maintenance/year

Lighting on the footpath between Darlington Back Lane and The Wynde to make it safer to walk on £2,800
