Further news from Eaglescliffe Ward.

1. 704-706 Yarm Road

A Planning Inspector has dismissed the appeal against Stockton Council's enforcement notice requiring removal of the unauthorised sign from the side of the building, the upvc cladding from the front & side elevations and the unauthorised windows & French doors from the front elevation and to restore the respective elevations, windows & doors to their previous state. However, he has given the appellant 6 moths to do this, instead of the 4 specified by the Council, in the hope that meanwhile it "might be possible by a process of discussion and negotiation to secure a scheme of works more in keeping with the historic character of the building than the pre-existing situation."

Stockton Council has confirmed the Tree Preservation Order, with one modification following an objection. The Order now protects 2 grey poplars.
