Egglescliffe School location debateWritten by Jacquie Bell on Mon 21st Dec 2009 The Editor Evening Gazette 20/12/09 Dear Sir The Egglescliffe School site debate continues. IBIS Councillors have asked where my comments are. What I can say is that I submitted letters to 3 local papers on 15th December but only one, The Northern Echo, chose to publish them. The text is on the Stockton Liberal Democrat website. Stockton Liberal Democrats have been at the forefront of the campaign to save Stockton's green lung of Preston Park. Many local people are signing up to the petition - concerned to lose this vital amenity. There are alternative sites being considered by Council officers. As yet local Councillors and Dari Taylor MP do not know the outcome of the studies. However, Mrs Taylor has already made her mind up to build on Preston Park - the footprint will be over more than the overflow car park. Liberal Democrat Councillors have been listening to local people over many months and the response to their petition shows that the local MP is not in tune with the majority of her constituency. The message is yet again - Hands Off Preston Park Dari Yours sincerely Jacquie Bell (Mrs) Parliamentary Spokesperson Stockton South
